Canvid

Canvid is a screen recording tool that adds automatic enhancements to your footage so the finished video looks polished without much editing.

It records up to 4K, and the feature set covers background removal, subtitle generation and voice enhancement, which makes it a fit for tutorials, demos and walkthroughs.

Output is unlimited on every plan, with no export cap to plan around.

Pricing is where the choices get interesting.

The subscription costs $15 a month and includes app updates and cloud services for as long as you keep paying.

The lifetime license is $99 once, but updates and cloud services are free for only the first year, so the word lifetime applies to access, not to ongoing upgrades.

Both individual plans cover up to 3 devices and all product features.

Teams can ask for a custom plan with flexible license management, customized deployment and dedicated support.

If you record often and want to avoid a recurring bill, the one-time option is the cheaper route over a couple of years, as long as you can live without free updates after year one.
