On-Call Health is free and open source, which matters for a tool that watches how stretched your engineers are.
On-Call Health is a burnout detection tool that monitors on-call workloads and gives engineering managers individual risk scores for each person on a rotation.
Rootly developed it.
The scores come from two kinds of input.
Objective signals are pulled from Rootly, PagerDuty, GitHub, Linear and Jira, and subjective sentiment surveys are collected through Slack.
Combining the two means a score reflects both how much work someone has handled and how they say they feel about it.
The point is early action.
Managers can rebalance rotations or pause non-urgent work before an engineer reaches exhaustion.
Because the code is open, teams can inspect how the scoring works.
The catch is that the data sources are tied to the tools above, so it fits best if your team already uses some of them.
