Restore Photo

Scratch, tear and spot removal is the core of Restore Photo, and it is the first thing to try if you have a stack of scanned prints that have seen better days.

Restore Photo is an AI photo restoration tool that repairs old, damaged or low-resolution pictures through a web app at restorephoto.app.

Beyond fixing physical damage, Restore Photo can colorize black and white photos and sharpen soft images, so one upload can cover several problems at once.

The app comes from PSDDR Inc, which says its goal is to make modern AI for photo restoration available to ordinary people rather than only to professional retouchers.

That makes it a practical pick for family albums, inherited snapshots and old portraits.

Results will depend on how badly the original is damaged, and you should compare the output against your scan before discarding anything.
