StoryGenius

Making a children's book usually means writing the story, finding an illustrator and paying for both.

StoryGenius is an AI storybook creator that handles the writing and the pictures so you can produce a book starring your own child.

You can generate a story from scratch in minutes, or bring your own story and have the tool illustrate it with AI-generated artwork.

The site claims savings of up to 95% on costs compared with traditional routes, though what you actually save will depend on what you would otherwise have paid.

StoryGenius covers the whole path from writing to illustration to publishing, which makes it a fit for parents, grandparents and gift-givers who want a personalized keepsake rather than a generic title off a shelf.

It also suits first-time authors who have a story idea but no design skills.

As with any AI illustration tool, check each page carefully before you print or share the finished book, since the artwork may need a second look.
